Steven
M. Goodman, MBA
Steven M. Goodman has been a professional Marketing Consultant for
more than 20 years, and has worked in consumer marketing for over 30
years. His specialization is working with food and beverage companies
who sell to both the retail and foodservice markets. To implement
sales and marketing programs, Mr. Goodman has worked closely with
leading food brokers, distributors, retail accounts, hotel and restaurant
chains throughout the world.
Like many marketing executives with a rich career of accomplishment,
he is best known by his achievements. Among the most noteworthy,
they include the launching of Crest Toothpaste with fluoride, still
the largest selling toothpaste in the U.S.; the introduction of
Haagen Dazs Frozen Desserts into supermarkets, the pioneer in super-rich
ice creams, which Mr. Goodman helped build from a brand of less
than $10 million to $60 million in sales, after which it was purchased
by Pillsbury; the roll-out of Tommy Lasorda's line of food products;
and the successful expansion and marketing of Seafood Broiler, a
California chain of seafood restaurants that was sold to Red Lobster.
He has also done extensive consulting work with nonfood, e-commerce,
technology, banking, transportation, hotel and travel clients.
Mr. Goodman's marketing skill set includes strategic planning; business
plans; sales forecasting; market analysis; price analysis; research;
name generation; packaging; managing brokers and distributors; developing
trade show booths and lead generation programs.
Mr. Goodman's advertising & promotion skill set includes new business
development; copywriting; concept development; video production;
advertising, brochure and POS production; media planning and placement;
premium & incentive programs.
Prior to opening HSR Associates, Mr. Goodman worked for several
large multinational agencies including N.W. Ayer, Dentsu Advertising
and Ketchum Advertising. He was a Sales Promotion executive for
Union Carbide Corp. and part of the brand marketing team at Procter
and Gamble.
Mr. Goodman's formal education includes an MBA in Marketing from
the Bernard M. Baruch College in New York and a BBA in Advertising
from the Bernard M. Baruch College.
